چکیده

In this paper, we present a Virtual-Suspect system which can be used to train inexperienced law enforcement personnel in interrogation strategies. The system supports different scenario configurations based on historical data. The responses presented by the Virtual-Suspect are selected based on the psychological state of the suspect, which can be configured as well. Furthermore, each interrogator’s statement affects the Virtual-Suspect’s current psychological state, which may lead the interrogation in different directions. In addition, the model takes into account the context in which the statements are made. Experiments with 24 subjects demonstrate that the Virtual-Suspect’s behavior is similar to that of a human who plays the role of the suspect.

A Virtual Suspect Agent’s Response Model

We develop a computational interpersonal affective response model for virtual characters that act as suspect in a serious game for training interviewing (interrogation) skills to police officers. We implemented a model that calculates the responses of the virtual suspect based on theory and observation. We describe the aspects of the move (question asked) by the police interviewer that we disti...

A Method to Evaluate Response Models

We are working towards computational models of mind of virtual characters that act as suspects in interview (interrogation) training of police officers. We implemented a model that calculates the responses of the virtual suspect based on theory and observation. We evaluated it by means of our test, the “Guess who you are talking to?” test. We show that this test can contribute to building respo...

These interactions can be non-cooperative as suspects are often not cooperating during th...
